January 16, 9:30 a.m.-- January member meeting and Petersen Automotive Museum visit. After a two-year closure for a dramatic renovation and new exhibits, the Petersen Museum is scheduled to reopen in December. Our January 16 meeting will be held at the Petersen, located at 6060 Wilshire Blvd., corner of Wilshire and Fairfax in Los Angeles. There will be a designated parking area where we will have our monthly meeting prior to the museum’s opening at 10:00. Bring a folding chair for the meeting. The museum’s admission price for car club members is $10 and parking is free for those driving Tigers or Alpines. Parking for other vehicles is $12. This will be a great chance to be among the first to see this renowned collection after its long-awaited reopening.

Can someone ask if Shelby's can get free parking? I'll wear my Tiger hat and a photo of my Tiger to show why I am not driving it.

Cheers and regardless I'll be there.

How about a Tiger badged Toyota? haha. I have been many times and I can only imagine how much better it should be with the renovation.

Peterson meeting

The weather looks like it will be perfect for the Peterson event this Saturday 1/16.

The meeting was great! I think I heard we had fifty people tour the museum.

The Petersen is much nicer now than it ever has been. The walls are lighter, largely white, which combined with brighter lighting makes the place much less dreary. The collection on display is outstanding. The cars in the "Precious Metal" exhibit are stunning - that was my favorite.

The photo below was taken early, before a lot of the Tigers arrived. Later we took a group photo. I'm sure it will be in the next Tiger Tales.

Mark Coombs, Pam and I toured The Vault. We saw about 120 more cars down there. No photos allowed in The Vault though.
