The opening seasonal cruise night brought all the local talent out of the barns to the Diner parking lot. The head Guru that we all bow and pay homage to had a wannabe newbie gnawing on his ear trying to get all the free "how to" in one aggravating sitting. We overheard this response: "You can spend your money once in my shop and get it done. Or, you can spend your money twice trying it yourself and give up. You can also spend your money three times by sticking to it and learning how much of an idiot you can be. Finally, you can spend your money four times when you bring it in and get it done." The newbie didn't leave, so the saga may continue . . .

Personally I love sharing my knowledge of the Sunbeam Tiger however I don't earn my living by keeping them on the road. I guess if I'm Dale, Tom, Paul, or one of a few others that may have been in this conversation I would have politely told the individual to purchase a factory manual, and the most recent Tiger Tech Notes from us. The best way to learn these cars is to dig in and figure things out if you a hands on guy like me. While I have leaned on all of these people with a question from time to time I have also made it a practice of doing business with all of them when it made sense. Tom did suspension work for me, Dale transmission and tail housing work and more, Paul for some of his parts, and Rick well I've spent thousands with him. If I had a simple question for any of them they typcially gave me help or some direction, of course I'm in Oregon so they know I can't drive up for repairs. I hope the newbie gets started with the above publications and uses the Pro's for those tasks that end up being beyond his abilities of whch with this car can be many. Cheers..........
