Hello Driving Enthusiasts,

Our Back To The Track event at Willow Springs is just over one month away... we need more participants to sign up now. Our goal with this event is to at least break even, which we usually do...and, with track rental; track insurance; experienced flag people and medical personnel at the ready... it's a very expensive weekend event to put on. At this point, we're short by quite a few drivers, and, we have to make a decision soon on if we should go through with it. The track requires notice if we want to cancel our scheduled date... but this is not what we want to do... unfortunately, everyone waits till the last minute to sign up for these types of events. There's alotta buzz going on about our event... if everyone who's said, yeah, I'm gonna go!, signs up, we'll have no problem... so, this is a last ditch effort to get everyone motivated.

The discounted price of $210 for club members and $225 for non-members will be extended thru Monday, June 6th... this is one of the lowest priced open track weekend events out there... you won't be disappointed. We've made it very easy to sign up... we now have PayPal, so all you have to do is click on the link below and fill out your information to sign up.

All types of vehicles are welcome, please pass this on to anyone you know who might be interested... lets make this happen!!

Open Track & Driver Education at the Streets of Willow Springs, July 9 and 10...

The Los Angeles Shelby American Automobile Club would like to offer an open invitation to anyone who is interested in participating in our Open Track Event at the Streets of Willow Springs on July 9th & 10th, 2016. The event fee will be as low as possible for a two day event... $210.00 for club members and $225.00 for non-members. And, NEW this year... we will be running "the bowl".

Owning a Shelby or Ford is not a requirement, all you really need is a desire and interest to exercise your car at speed in a safe environment. We welcome all makes of cars.

We recognize that there has been an over-saturation of organizations and individuals that have rented track time at Willow Springs the last several years. Our non-profit club had been organizing open track events twice a year for over 18 years at Willow Springs prior to 2012. We are oriented to the car owner who wants to exercise their car in a safe environment; with primarily street driven cars. Our driving instructors volunteer their time and they are made available to everyone at no additional charge. Two of our instructors, Bruce Kawaguchi and Dan Walters, have been VARA B-Production Champions. We have maintained a problem-free and safe record of track operation due to our diligent oversight and focus on safety. Other organized track events have not been as problem free.

We run three run groups: Advanced / Intermediate / Novice and limit attendance to avoid over-crowding on the track . We offer an opportunity for any level of experience to come out and have a great time in a safe environment. We provide experienced corner-workers to let you know of any potential problems while you're out on the track... others do not.

Safety is still our most important consideration.

We require the car owner to attest to the safety of their vehicle and we have tech inspection at the track to double-check your vehicle for safe operation. A metal-bracketed fire extinguisher that is securely fastened, bolted or double hose clamped to SOMETHING SUBSTANTIAL within driver’s reach is strongly recommended. We require drivers to wear a SNELL approved automobile helmet with an SA-2000 or later rating (SM-rated motorcycle helmets are discouraged).

Spectators are welcomed and encouraged to come watch.

Our friends at Shelby club will add you to their mailing list and have been really nice to me as a guest. I was wanting to escape May gray near the coast and popped into a Shelby event and the ushered me inside the building to park among the original GT 40's and other really nice cars wow.....

Just saw this on the Shelby site.

We are extending discounted pricing through July 8th. Day-of sign ups will be at the $235/$250 rate. Looking forward to seeing everyone out at the track.

Hey Guys and gals,

We did it! Actually, you guys did it. When things looked bleak, our members came thru. Alotta people signed up last weekend, both members and non-members... but, the most important thing is, we're going back to the track!!

Any Tigers sign up?

Just wondering, are any Tigers going to participate in this event on July 8 and 9?

Cheers - Doug
