Last weeks auctions

Does anybody know how Tigers did during last weeks auctions? Just wondering because as I was at a Shelby show yesterday a few people mentioned that the Tigers were doing well.

Thanks, Doug

Apparently the red car at Mecum went for 55K; the blue car from Texas at Russo and Steele goes over the block on Saturday at 3PM. I looked at it today and it appears to be a '66 Mk 1A with square corners, plastic cover over the soft top, footwell vents and a Chrysler star. The engine bay looks Tiger as does the battery box cover and interior. I was not able to get under the trunk cover but it had quite a bit of CAT documentation with it. A couple of weird things -it has wire wheels and the VIN is for a Mk 1 #988 - both the VIN and JAL numbers (which match) are attached with non-original rivets. Who has the original VIN?

Big Red Flag

From Bill's description, it sounds like the VIN plate and JAL plate might have been switched onto this body from a different car. That is illegal. And without a TAC certificate, the replacement body might well be an Alpine. Buyer beware.

Noem posted about this car to the tigers list.. At minimum there are lineage issues with the tag/body mix... And ten as David suggests may be heritage issues with the body.

The Russo and Steele Blue Mk1A Tiger with wire wheels and a Mk 1 VIN sold for $71,500 including premium.
