Leftover Part After Installing a New Dash

I replaced the dash in my Mk1 and hooked all of the lighting up successfully. I do have a leftover part which is a lamp socket like the one that goes into the Tach or Speedo that has a white wire with a fork terminal and a blue wire connected to it. When I took the dash apart I tie wrapped it to the wires that plug into the back of the Amp Meter as if it had something to do with it. Please check out the pictures and let me know if you have any ideas what this is for. They look original to the car.

My Guess

Let me first say that you should wait until for the response of one of the guys who is more of an expert.

That said, my guess on your mystery part is the high beam warning light. It is the only bulb under the dash that I can identify on the wiring diagram as having a blue and white wire.

Thanks but the high beam warning light is there and connected. This is also too large.

I think at one time that you had a different aftermarket gauge that the bulb was for. It is not the correct bulb for the high beam light and is designed to clip into the back of a gauge.

Looks to me like a tail light or parking light socket. Did someone try to put in a footwell light?

Another Guess?

My initial thinking would have been the ammeter gauge light. But then, those other items point to some sort of personal repurposing ??
