I am looking for the "chrome" piece that goes on the passenger boot door ( opens up to the convertible top). I have 2 drivers side and need a passenger side.

I have a Mark1 '64-'65 I need the "chrome piece that attaches to the side flap which opens the convertible top boot".

Any help would be appreciated - please PM.

Thanks Doug

Hi Doug,

A picture (of the driver side piece since that is the one you have) would help narrow down what you are looking at.

With the description you gave it could be a number of different parts.

If you have a '64-'65 the "...chrome piece...opens to the convertible top..." could be the chrome strip that attaches to the side flap of the metal convertible top boot. If that is the case - there are two sets for sale on ebay right now (they are being sold with the metal side flaps as a set).

If you have a '66 - '67 then you don't have the metal convertible top boot and are probably talking about the chrome B-Post cap and again there is a set for sale on ebay right now.

Neither of these pieces are being sold on ebay by me - just passing along the information.

As you can see a picture of your piece would be worth a thousand words here.

Repop

One of our members makes a repop set Brad K. in Newport Beach in roster. He uses his name on eBay for his other sales of stuff.

I got a set for my car that were 2nds they do not have any of the locating pins and a good set is hard to come by as hurried door closing scrapes em up bad.

Not to mention, roll bars go on bins come off then the Mrs the kids or the help loose them...... Never accept responsibility for your own actions no matter what:D not like I have ever lost anything in the garage...
There has been a set or three on eBay making me wish I sniped the set off a complete Alpine roller I sold.

If Brad see's this hopefully he'll contact me; if not I'll look him up when I return to the office. Thanks All

Interseting Steven

I do not remember that thanks Steven. Only one of the 3 parts cars I was lucky enough to find had them anyway, and I sold the car on to a V6 minded chap. Brad's repop went on my car with some heavy duty two sided 20lb vinyl tape and you cant tell unless you open doors and do not see the pins and the clips protruding, fine for Torrance Beach not Pebble Beach.

I suppose one could drill a Alpine set if need be. The last set was 300 bucks or so mine have dents and waves I can fix em for that kinda dough,
maybe tomorrow...... or maybe a tonneau cover will hide em shhh.

They most certainly do, they were introduced on the series 3 Alpine pre tigers. They are on the siv as well. They are there to protect the paint as you close the covers , the si/ii alpines had to small tabs at the point where the covers get scrapped for the s3-iv they extended them the full length.

The alpine s3-iv and tiger mki soft top covers are the same

For those still not sure, this is what he is looking for.......

You most likely will have to buy the whole door to get one. Maybe both doors. Now that you have asked, one should appear on the Fleabay. :). That's normally the way it goes. We have lurkers here that make dreams come true.

Thanks for the photo - just need a nice passengers side.

Funny Paul

It is not just here it is on Facebook and other Tiger sites. Lots of guys follow on sell when they see a Sunbeam bit do really well. I look every day but mostly as a hobby seller. I would not mind a set of the metal covers as well as mine have some dents that I don't care to fix. I do not buy and sell parts in a flipper mode but some do. The guy that had Foose build his car had a set in the battered bits he brought to the swap meet. His guru Dan was suggesting prices and I still thought they were too cheap and told him to take it to eBay or our marketplace where he could find a needy Tiger owner removing "Personalized" items.

chrome piece

Not wanting to spend the big bucks on the chrome pieces I
found a chrome strip off a old ford, chevy whatever and trying to make
the chrome strips instead of buying, here's my first try. Will need to trim and clean up.
Heres another picture of the back side I slide some flat headed bolts down the channel
and then used a rubber mallet to help form the chrome on the side panel.
