Mike M. asked the board for suggestions on the coming fix in at Bud's shop in Anaheim. Knowing the great ideas that are out there, but in your collective minds I suggested a posting.

Even if you are unable to attend please give us your ideas. We have had a front end alignment and O2 sensor carburetor tweak.

A vintage motorcycle group I know does a B.Y.O.C. and BBQ, that's bring your own carburetor for cleaning. I know there are some great ideas out there.

Warren, I've known a few carburetors that have started their own BBQ- combine resources and save time

Come on Guys

Below is a cut n paste from a local motorcycle group. It's called BYOC for bring your own carburetor.. I have not been but hear it's more like BYOB with a BBQ and carburetors of course.

Attention riders sitting on your projects!
The BYOC #15 is going to be on the 8th of February.
Time get those carbs ready for the 2014 season,

Death Valley riders get ready to run 75mph for 8 hours!(Brendon!)

The garage is going to open at Noon Sharp! Show up early and get your carbs in line!!
Lots of great rides coming up this year! be ready!
electrical gremlins? solder those loose connections!
change that oil! disposal on premises.

clean your air filters! cleaner and fresh oil available!

balance your carbs! testing gauges ready!

flush your brakes! mighty vac available.

How about tips on changing left side spark plugs....

O.K. ...I undo the top of the 'dogbone' from the steering shaft, loosen the bolt holding the column right above that... loosen the 2 column mount bolts under the dash... then pull the whole column back to get access to the middle two plugs!
On, my car, there is enough slack on the wiring that I don't have to unplug anything from the turn signal assembly.
The front plug is 'easy' and the back one... you know the drill... remove the grommet and it's straight in !

Being in Chicagoland, I would not be able to attend. But if I could I would be interested in getting help in disassembling and servicing my Tiger's steering column, including replacing bearings and reassembling everything. I know Tim Morin sells an upgraded version of the bearings. But I think there are some tricks to getting things apart and properly back together.

It also occurs to me that if there is someone attending that has some expertise in that area, maybe the process could be video taped and the club could sell it as a DVD. For a reasonable price, say $20 or less, I would be interested in buying one.

Someone might also be interested in the disassembly and servicing of their stock Tiger steering rack.

Just some ideas from afar.:)

Thanks Jim--I will keep this handy.....

We have some ideas

It looks like we are leaning towards a carb, and O2 sensor session. A couple of auto crosses ago I had my steering rack in my driver and brought it down for an eye balling by the fellows who have been there and done that. Dan and Bob gave it a jiggle and a prod. They pointed out what did what and how then became a tech writer of sorts to help me understand the English in the red Sunbeam workshop manual. When I got home with the lesson still ringing in my ears it was rather easy moving the shims about. With their combined knowledge the red Sunbeam workshop manual language was understood by me as if it was read directly from my "Idiots guide to keeping your VW alive,"

The fix in is limited to a stop and check and small items that can be done without out getting stuck up on the lift or stuck using a flat bed for a ride home.

We had a great meeting today in Huntington Beach, and lots of ideas were batted around.
The second most important to me would be having something to go with the cookie desert staple Claudia faithfully provides.

Please stay tuned .
