Mecum Tiger auction

Nice guy

So , here is story. I bid on this guys late model mirror on eBay.
Next he sends me a PM thru the eBay system asking if I need other bits.
Turns out he has larger things that I do not need .

He also asks me what I think about car from the Mecum listing.
I say not enough pics to really tell. He sends link to photo hosting site.

I tell him still need pics of car up on lift and offer to post link on CAT
WITH THE DISCLAIMER the nit pickers can be brutal. I give him my ballpark no.

Well seller declined and I hope he does well. I do not think he wrote the ad copy so be nice. Just a guess here but I don't think that a potential buyer will peruse our site prior to open the check book.

He seems like a good guy. I have his contact info on laptop at home.
Away till late tonight.

Sold for $38k... I think the reserve came off at $30k...

The lot before it was a '68 Yenko Camaro... didn't meet reserve @ $440k !!!

Pics can be deceiving... but

I feel like that was a very nice looking car. If it ran well, this was a very good buy. No?

PS: Peter Pan still in operation. But they sell BMWs here in San Mateo. :p

Wish my paint looked that nice!

What a beautiful exterior! That paint looks 2 feet deep! Nice tiger overall.

Looked like a clean car--I wouldn't like the fuel cell in the trunk--I like to store junk in there.

Research

Looks like whoever wrote the description has been reading the 'Wiki'

Mecum Tiger

The black Mecum Tiger had gone through Ebay several times several months ago and did not sell. I believe he was asking mid 40's at the time.

red n blue

Where is the black one. We have 2 threads for the same auction.
How do you get a set of Tiger par tires, they old stock for show only?
