Metal soft top storage covers

My 1965 tiger did not have the metal stowage covers when I got my car, so I was just going to convert over to the soft top parts. I recently aquirred the 3 metal covers but, no trim, latches, bolts, hinges, ect. I have watched most of the video's on the internet, but still not sure what needs to be done. I was going to get the cat shop notes, but was waiting for the updated ones to come out. I installed my top almost 30 years ago,and not sure if its totally right, with the top down the metal cover looks like it would be sitting on the canvas and not the rear sill.
Right now my top is installed between the body and the rear sill. Any help or direction would be appreciated. I just now figured out how to post a new topic, so I can take and post some pictures if needed. Thanks Kevin

Thanks Chirodoc, never been there before lots of good stuff. Looks like owains car came with the soft boot. I have most the parts to do that, but
going to try the metal ones first if I can. Kevin
