A guitar builder once gifted me with a set of Micro Mesh sanding cloth. The cloth pieces are about 4" x 5". They go from 1800 grit to 12000 grit. I have used these cloths on lots of different items. My first use was on an old pinball machine plastic part and brought the part back to original condition with a high shine on the part. One use of Micro Mesh is said to be polishing lexan aircraft windows (so I have heard) to make them clear again. In any case, it's a pretty remarkable tool for me and I thought I would share.
 
I had never heard of Micro Mesh cloths. Thank you for sharing the information. I had to look them up on the internet and see that they are available at different sources, including Amazon.
