Mike Jones visited Tiger Auto in Dayton today where he reunited with AF-4, the Tiger he "rolled" in May of 1964 during a blinding rain storm. As Mike said, "Since it was a GT it had a hard top and that hard top saved me. The windshield folded over."
Mike was a Jensen engineer charged with developing the Tiger. As a result of that crash he designed a new mount for the Panhard bar which he discussed in a recent Tiger Tales article.
Later he used this same AF-4 as his testbed for his De Dion concept for further improving Tiger handling.
Mike will be the guest speaker at next summer's Tigers United which will be held in Sacramento.
