Mike Jones visited Tiger Auto in Dayton today where he reunited with AF-4, the Tiger he "rolled" in May of 1964 during a blinding rain storm. As Mike said, "Since it was a GT it had a hard top and that hard top saved me. The windshield folded over."

Mike was a Jensen engineer charged with developing the Tiger. As a result of that crash he designed a new mount for the Panhard bar which he discussed in a recent Tiger Tales article.

Later he used this same AF-4 as his testbed for his De Dion concept for further improving Tiger handling.

Mike will be the guest speaker at next summer's Tigers United which will be held in Sacramento.

Wish I could be there however I am a long way away. Would love to hear the results of his discussion. please let us know

That is the first time I have seen anyone wearing a neck tie in Doug's shop!
I wish I could have been there to hear the stories.

Eric.
My thoughts also. I wonder what kind of reaction BS {dog} had to someone dressed like that! Especially if BS was in the mood to play.

Moderator note: "BS" is Douggie's very friendly Pit Bull. Mike had just attended a business meeting before stopping by. And for those who don't know, Tiger Auto has suffered from several devastating burglaries in the past few year, hence the reference (below) to investigating police detectives who may be wearing ties.

What a distinguished guest! But having your presence at this year's United was a high water mark in my book! Thanks for all the knowledge and advice you shared with us!

Moderator's note: It was great meeting so many Sunbeamers and putting faces to names I've come across over the years. It was my delight to be given that wonderful opportunity.
