Mirrors

Are either of these correct for my Mk1 Tiger? The one on the left is longer and all metal, the one on the right is narrower and has a black crinkle plastic back on it.. Thank you. The bodyshop can't locate my mirror at the moment, so I dug these out just in case.

I believer the smaller, squarish one is from the GT. Isn't the Tiger mirror tapered (oval) on the ends? I don't have anything to reference at the moment, but I don't think the larger mirror is correct.

The one on the right is the correct one for the MK1 Tiger. Looks like the convex mirror is in great shape-that is hard to find. Eric

Eric is correct, the convext mirrors are often de-silvered... as with the later ones.

To add to what Hottgr said, the early Tigers MKI and cross body MKI's (all of the ones with the metal hood box covers) used the smaller mirror as per S3 and SIV Alpine. When the SV Alpine/MKIA Tiger came out they made a larger ovaled mirror. This also is the reason for the 2 types of sun visors.. the ones SS sells are the later style with a notch for the larger mirror.

if you want to use the mirror,use the larger oval mirror. it doesn't vibrate like the small mirror since it has the rubber buffer that sets against the windshield.
