Are some of the recent posts missing? Can't seem to find a post where someone was inquiring about adjusting the slave cylinder pushrod. Thanks.

That post is technically not missing. It was deleted at the request of the original poster.

Oh

Thanks for the reply, Buck. So, Steven, what did you find out? Kirk

My clutch seems very hard and the pedal does not sit at the top of travel. So before I get under to check things i found this. Drain the fluid, open the bleeder and depress the slave piston to the bottom and hold it there. Then gently tie back the clutch arm till just touching the the clutch. the distance between the slave piston and clutch arm is the length of the rod.

Just a note

Administrators and moderators will see a lot of things that get soft deleted for whatever reason. That certainly seems like it was a good thread as some people like their clutch to engage near the bottom and some people prefer it near the top of the travel.
I've messed with this on Volkswagens many many moons ago. I have two cars that actually run now and it's very interesting that one engages near the top of the travel and one near the bottom. I'm too lazy to change it or mess with it right now so I just accept it. Actually at this age I say to myself wow I really like the stock clutch rather than my big heavy center force knee joint killer...
Oh one more thing If you have the propensity to rest your foot on top of the clutch pedal it is probably better to have it engaged much further down so you don't wear out clutches like my sister-in-law used to do on her Volkswagen :)
