MK1 Clock

A Rare Commodity

Mike

It does not surprise me there are no replies to your post. Original clocks for a Mk1 are as “rare as hen’s teeth.” I have been looking for one for years without success. If you do find one, expect to pay top dollar.

If you have not already done so, be sure to read the article on Tiger Clocks in the May-June issue of CAT tales. Mk1 clocks are thought to be either of two Smith models and there is no real evidence as to which clocks went into which cars. So be sure to read the article before you spend your hard earned money.

As an alternative, reproductions are occasionally available on eBay.

Good Luck.

There are several threads on this form as well as the aforementioned Tiger Tales article. A couple of guys have been reproducing them basically buying up core clocks on eBay UK and then having them refaced. As well as having Jaguar clock guy redo the guts so they tell time and keep working just like a Timex, although we don't give it a licking....
The core clocks come up quite often on eBay UK. I have one clock but you have to buy the car to get it:)
