I believe that as the value of Tigers have risen and many want to return their Tigers to as original that there are going to be certain parts that will become more expensive. The water bottle bracket, I admit, seems to be an extreme case but I lost out on an original Casco lighter that went for almost 500.00 dollars. Back in the day you could have gone and purchased the item for 5 or ten bucks. If people want as original then these are the parts that will be high value. Ironically, back when the cars were new owners wanted to modify their cars and "improve" their car, essentially tossing parts that are rare and desired today. I think one thing is certain and that is one can expect parts to become more expensive due to price creep, rarity, and how much some are willing to pay to make their Tiger whole again. Just my .02 cents.:)

Another one is the remote oil filter to block bracket. Starting at 200.00. I guess if you need one...well you need one.:D

I find it pretty funny when someone lists an item for Sunbeam Tiger/Alpine ... 99.9999 % of the time, that means it's an Alpine part! And more than half that time, it's a part that specific to an
Alpine and not correct for a Tiger  Sad, but true

A lot of parts ( typically ) can be had as they are also for other cars... you can still buy a brand new Tiger ashtray for instance as there are two of them in the back seat of some Jag sedans and are available brand new!!'
If you have your heart set on a correct looking lighter.... I don't think you could tell the difference if you bought this one I found on eBay...

First pic ... lighter ( comes complete with socket ) from above auction... Buy It Now US$54.73
Second pic ... lighter that sold for US$480

Plastic

Vs Bakelight ? That sure is a reasonable facsimile , Jim .

I can see it now .

Hi, I'd like to put in a claim, Mr ins. claims rep someone stole my cigar lighter...

Pretty simple cobble with the right shape washer goodie and a washer pump knob.

I always have something plugged in there other than lighter.

Wow, I need to look harder!:D I agree, I don't smoke and usually have a GPS or something else plugged in. I was going strictly for correctness for shows etc.
I'm pretty good with Triumph cars but still have a lot to learn on what's available for Tigers. I tend to look strictly at what is listed as Tiger and forget about
the fact that other cars (which I know even less about) could have the same thing at a more reasonable price. While fun, learning can be an expensive pastime. LOL!

Plug cap

I had a chrome plug in my other rather then install the wrong lighter and receptacle. I ran a power cord from battery direct thru boot under carpet to center console and added unseen female device lighter plug there.

Bottle brackets are all over eBay U.S. and U.K. especially the Alpine one. Can't find my pic of the Tiger specific small add on captive nut and short L bracket but it is a way easy project.

Final value fees combined are 12.9% and the reserve fees are pretty steep and eBay is playing Qbids and charging for bidsniper program for bids in the last minute or 15 seconds ,plus there is a big gin up and shill component to be considered.

MKI-MKIA bottle Holder

Just to make sure , those picture of a unrestored MKIA is the bottle holder is attached the correct way (MKIA) , picture was supplied by a friend in Montreal.

The one we will make will be base on this one !!!!!

Thanks

Gilles

Spining wheels

A Mk1 and 1a bracket is available. But the little add on that makes it Tiger specific is not.
It is the detachable 1/2 or so flat strap with a but 1/4 20 or 28 I'm not site right now nut bird poo welded on in typical Jensen style :)

So if I understand correctly , the way the bottle holder is mounted on the picture his wrong !!!

Ebay is not a good place to judge market price. I just sold a couple, privately, for $75 and the latest refinished for $100. Many many parts dealers out there with fair prices that don't deal on ebay.
Ebay is a good indication of auctions price, when two or more people don't have anywhere else to go purchase a piece.
