MKIA $28,000

Late offering

I knew a guy that was chasing this car he said he sent out a check for it and the guy sent it back. This was the same guy that passed on the 86 car in Fresno , Forrest39 was kicking tires on. Interesting Cat to say the least the car and the car hunter.

Very nice Tiger and one I'd take as a gift.

Interesting choices in de-chroming and colors:

1. He removed the side spears, grill spear, Sunbeam lettering, but left the bumper overriders, the rear badge and what appear to be rusty tailpipes.

2. The tan carpet appears to be salvaged from a basement rumpus room.

3. Body color accent stripe around the silver hardtop, but a blue stripe across the ass end.

Bottom line - does the jury here rule it's worth $28K?

Is it Worth $28000?

Jack,

For me, that is a very hard question to answer with the little information available. Cars have been known to have decent paint jobs over terrible rust. I did not notice any photos of the underside or the car or of close-ups of the other areas prone to rust. And without a TAC, I would not pay any more $$$ than I would for an Alger, regardless of the title and VIN number. But that is just me.

The seller said to call for more info, but I did not notice a phone number to call. Oops - later I found where you can click for the phone number.

If the numbers all check out, my guess would be value in the $20's. But, then the spending begins . . . . . . .

One of those things I remember is the name in the drop is down John Metzger sound familiar it should. The story I heard why a previous Tiger hunter could not get a hold of this guy is that the owner was a a long haul truck driver.

I recall seeing some pictures of the bottom and it was not bad and sure did not look like an Ohio car. These are the same exact pictures used back in the Summer.

Bill good of you to chime in the real car is in Fayetteville GA and recently TAC'ed too # 1054

Thanks Bill. For you others, please don't trash my car. I bought this one because it was complete and not cut up or modified. This is the third Tiger I've owned so I had some idea what I was getting into. I'm in no hurry to finish the car as I drive it while working on it. Why own something you can't enjoy.
The Metzger's were very nice people and I have no problem with them. Previous to me, they had buyers that couldn't produce the money on time. He didn't answer calls for awhile to give the guy a chance to get the money. I just happen to be there at the right time. There seem to be a number of people waiting to buy the car. Of course they hadn't seen it wasn't a peach but some can see past the Corvette Orange paint job.

I liked the car

I told the Cali buyer that it looked too good to be from Ohio. I told him to buy it. I think I said get up off your ____ and go see it or pay someone to do so. By no means was I trashing the car. To see the listing still up is strange. The guy who was picking my brain about the car was in June of last year and I have several not pictured in the ad photos that he sent me. I went over the pictures in great detail with that guy just as a good deed for a next to complete stranger that approached me.

The only weird thing is the ad is still there if you object to the thread I think we would be more than happy to make it go away from this forum.

You are right about the ad. I have tried to contact the AutoTraderClassics but no response. Realistically I wouldn't pull an add based on what an unknown person might say. It's up to the person who took out the ad to complain. I've told the Metzgers that and it's in their ballpark to do something about it. Personally it would drive me nuts to have calls on something that went away last year. If it is the AutoT…s fault for not managing their site then that is something for potential sellers to be aware of.

I don't object to any thread that has a discussion about a car. If it's possible to gleam some tidbit of information about your car, that's great. That's what I think is really useful about forums. "trash my car" is said with tongue in cheek, please don't take offense.

If someone wants to know something about the car, I'm more than happy to share.
