For the last couple of years I have gone to the pre-reunion races at Laguna Seca and camped at the track. It was managed by the county and was $35 per night. SCRAMP took control of the campground on the Monterey Reunion days.

This year SCRAMP took control of the camp grounds starting with the week before the Reunion. Now, in order to camp there during the pre-reunion, you must be registered to camp also during the reunion weekend.... even if you won't be there. Camping there now is waaay out of my budget. I won't be back,,,%&*#

they learned from Pebble Beach GL

My employer used to have rolling tee times. Then you had to stay at the Lodge in order to reserve. So... For awhile the company also had lodging reservations. They began to skip using the hotel reservations (we're only a couple hours north, if that) and of course one thing led to another...

I never got my chance to take colleagues and/or customers = fail.

Anyway sorry... As I posted, can try the State Park route... I'll be doing so in the between week.

I again talked to ticket sales at the raceway yesterday. The girl told me that reservations can be made for the pre-reunion camping without reserving through the reunion weekend. cost is $50 per night with no hookups and no reserved spot.
Just wanted to clarify from my previous post.
She said that SCRAMP is trying it this year and may change back next year, depending on how it works out.

Camping is cheap, it's the weekend ticket you have to have that gets expensive.
