Here is my list:

- expansion tanks straps
- 2 barrel carb spacer
- original 2 barrel (MKI)
- firewall heater hose bracket
- gen bracket and adjustment bar
- fan
- left door shell (round MKI)

And of course, any cars that come along that the price is so good I could flip them and make money to finance my restoration. :)

I think most people here will offer up everything on your list except the last one - we are all looking for that same car. :)

Kids,
That was a joke for the Administrators, or whomever gets first crack at all the good stuff. It was my way of saying I don't like that aspect of the board. I guess I don't understand why my for sale and wanted need to be vetted.

P
But I can live with it!

The ads are "approved" because only CAT members can place ads.

But you don't have to be a member to just Post to the forum? I'm not following the logic, but I'll go with it. I can see benefits both ways, but the downsides seems minimal.

Paul its cat members, not forum members. It gives you s reason to not just join the forum but also the club.

Guys

Only CAT members means just that. Paul is commenting on the approval process. In the beginning the f/s was free range and several spam ads appeared. When we had the barrier down for 2 hours 2 slipped in. Both were contacted and both did not respond 2x thereby declining to join. One was SAOCA member posting parts which he has put up there and eBay, other was car flipper in New Mexico who went to eBay.

But if someone is looking for something, one can respond with their ad they just posted to ebay? What's the diff.

In your scenario the seller is putting in the effort to go to the buyer.

Placing an ad on the CAT forum the buyer comes to the seller.

Significant difference in my book.

The rules are so scumbags can't sell dud or non existent crap.

It's a real downer when a joke turns on you. :)

Balancing act

My personal opinion is I'd rather have someone say have a nice day then follow a wanted ad on forum with their eBay ad:rolleyes:

Paul knows how to roll and help a pal, he just did me a pick up in Lost Wages Nevada and picked up a bargain Edelbrock F4b for me . Sure there are some listed at 450 on eBay and some less , but the CAT is out of the bag just like RX7 rear disc brake parts. I always tell guys I am looking for Alpine ,Mustang and Falcon parts.:D

We traded a couple of parts and if I were to rate the transaction it would have a gazillion stars ,

Stay tuned guys...

But also whoever reads and ok's the for sale ads has first crack at them, whether they are parts or cars. :(

:(

I would hope that the "general membership" sees these at the same time.

In my opinion -- To have someone who also has a vested interest in these cars and parts to see the for sale items first AND then sends it out to the general membership seems like insider trading.

I think that you know what I mean.

Got to Trust Someone

I have seen no evidence of "insider trader" by anyone associated with the Forum. If it were to happen, it would definitely be a very bad thing. This same issue was raised many years ago (before the Forum, heck, before the internet) when such for sale ads were accepted in Tiger Tales. If anyone knows of such "insider trading" by anyone associated with the Forum, I would hope that he or she would bring it to the attention of one of the officers (contact information is in your Tiger Tales) so it could be dealt with. I personally have complete confidence in the honesty of the people I know who work on the Forum.

My comments were not directed towards any one - and I appreciate your comments. CHEERS

Haven't been on here in a few days, appreciate the feedback. Hope I didn't miss out on any parts while away! :)

Really, Cat members should be the only people to be able to see this site? I'm clear on vetting for sales, but when I am looking for something? Don't get it. Updated list coming.
