New dash pad and seal, can't get windshield to sit right?

Hi,
Bought a new dashpad, adjustment nuts, and lower windshield frame seal from Rick.
Dash pad went in fine, followed the instructions for the seal and adjustment nuts, all went well.
The problem I have is that the windshield now sits higher (thickness of the dash pad?) so the front outer surface of the seal sits higher on the body, especially where it curves at the corners, in those two areas the seal barely fills the gap?
Has anyone else had this issue? Phoned Rick, very nice as usual, but he said it's not an issue he's encountered?
What is the correct procedure for tightening down the frame?

Thanks,

Paul

I believe the common issue is the pads have yo much foam at the leading edge where it goes under the screen and also near the "A pillar" people trim or sand the foam till they get a fit.

Hi,
I cut the foam from under the pad in the gasket area and reinstalled the the windshield.
It sits correctly in the center, but is still high in the corners, very noticeably on the drivers side. Looks like the trim piece may not be sitting correctly?
Any ideas guys?
It was good when I removed the frame?

Thanks,

Paul

That's really strange. I've installed a few and never seen that. I have to say could your frame is bent? I would check the contour of the frame against the body. Do you have all studs tightened down?

After working on it further, it appears that the lower stainless trim piece is the issue. The rubber gasket between the windshield and frame is older (I changed the gasket between the frame and body), so the trim piece does not sit right. I've tried finessing it a bit, I'll play with it some more to see what happens.
