I am looking to buy a car trailer to fit the Tiger and unsure about the overall dimensions as the net has several specs for length and 1 foot varaition in length

My car is not here or I would go measure it myself
Can someone please give me bumper to bumper length, and overall width

Thanks in advance

shop manual

Shows 13 feet in length by 5 feet 1/2 inch for width...Kirk

I've been towing my Tiger on a 16' trailer. This leaves a good foot in front and actually some excess room in back. The width is 16.5". This is a standard width, but the problem is you can't open the doors so you climb in the window or over the car if the top is down to drive the car on and off the trailer. Maybe someone can chime in with the width necessary to open the doors. Cliff

Wide open door adds 34.75" to th width.

If the door space is too tight, perhaps a winch is the way to go. I have a 16' x 8' cargo trailer, that I recently installed e-track into. I plan on trailering my car to the TEAE United in it. When I have time in the coming weeks (as soon as I clean the junk out...) I'll drive the car in and see if I can wiggle in/out of the car using the door. A foot or so is pretty tight, but 99% of the time I have my top down, so stepping over the door would work for me then. My back-up plan is to set up an electric winch to pull the car in.

Tiger Trailer Space ?

Tiger's are relatively accessible in most boxed trailers. Nothing will beat the gymnastics this pasta fed fella went thru after driving a big Rivvie into into the shop's 24' mover.

overall

My closed trailer is 16 ' inside length and 7' between the walls. I have a winch mounted to the floor near the nose with wiring going under the floor and along the tongue. I have a connector on the wiring harness that is actually the connector unit used on battery operated fork lifts and it connects to the same type of connector which is fastened to the my hitch under the SUV. These connectors are stocked at NAPA stores. The wiring for this connector runs thru the frame rails to the main fuse box in the engine compartment and has a 50 amp fuse. I use the winch to load the Beams in the trailer and use the cable and one wheel strap to tie down the front and have rings welded to the plate under the rear springs on all 7 Beams to fasten the rear straps to the D rings in the floor. The only Beam that takes up most of the trailer space is my 69 GT fastback. The other six Beams being regular Alpines take up less space but we walk up the side and set the parking brake and put the trans in first gear. My other trailer is a full deck 16' with 7' between the fenders. The fenders allow me to open the doors with no problems. I have a wench mounted to the floor for loading non running cars. Here's a photo of my closed trailer and my open trailer. I also have a winch on the flat bed and had to use the winch to load the Harrington when I picked it up at Doug's a couple weeks ago because it doesn't have an engine / trans yet.

A photo of the white Harrington when I arrived home after picking it up at Bill's house in Reno. Plenty of space.
