Plastic window care

Any ideas for care of the plastic?
They never seem to look good for long.

On other rag top cars I have placed a soft towel in the well where the window rests so the easily scratched window will not rub on itself, and between its folds.

Never used anything but water to clean and then lay a towel on top to dry.
No rubbing...

Is there a modern product that has UV protection that will not yellow and possibly buff out those hairline scratches?

Yes, when I go out in a 30% chance of rain day I got wet in Calif.
1st. time I had top up in 13 months. I got really wet and miss my power top on the 64 Falcon or the ease of the 64 bug . Both are parked for the harsh Cali. winter. The honeymoon is not over for the Tiger and she waits for at less than 20% chance of rain day.
At least I was warm and wet and rather steamy.

I used to use a towel too, but in my current Tiger I left the soft top off, I never use it anyway. It's always sunny in California......;)

Mexico

No, It does.... Typically in Jan and Feb all 17 inches of the average fall in So. Cal.

Sorry this post has nothing to do with horse power or other what's correct ?s.

I guess this may be why GT cars had a hard top and no soft top right?

I see your point Kidz why spend the time and dough on it.

Maybe that's what the optional visiors are for, directing rain over the driver's

Head! Too bad mine where at home.

17 inches? That must be a PV total.

Isn't that what gas station canopies and underpasses were made for? ... to wait out the Cali rain.

I've found if you keep moving just fast enough you won't get wet so you just have to learn to time the signals.

Seriously though I haven't had any problems using a well rinsed and properly cared for natural chamois for drying using the correct technique. Also there are plastic rubbing compounds to help remove fine scratches.

I have been caught in the rain--as long as you keep moving you stay dry, it's when you slow down or stop you get soaked....:(

The honeymoon isn't over but this is gonna be a rocky marriage 4 sure! Heater core blew out and my 30 yr old carpet is in 4 inches of total gooo green red mess! I miss the power top on the 66 mustang as well. The SRT viper roadster is a 10 second quick and down,,,, but to answer your specific question Wolfsteins Ragg Topp is the absolute BEST convertible top cleaner'protectant on the market, no silicone etc. and priced as all quality car care products....HIGH

Old school; A soft diaper and mild tooth paste. Brusha-brusha-brusha :D

I have seen the Mythbusters episode with the speeding convt. I am sure I would rather be wet than drier with a ticket. Cross town commuting was my work day/night existence,

Thanks One of five I used Pepsodent on brass as polish in a different school the hard knock one. Will look up th Wolfstein stuff. Been meaning to ask you how come you don't use rubber on your lic plate brackets?

Same school, diff tooth paste. Don't use rubbers on the plate bracket 'cause we don't drive in the rain. I could steal another inner tube from the G-kids bikes to cut up and wedge in there, maybe . . . . .
