These valve covers come from a California Tiger that was reported stolen and never recovered.
My "Registry" listing goes way back to 1970, but here they are on eBay in 2013 - amazing.

I am sure this will start an interesting discussion. After all these years the seller probably does not know he has stolen property. If there was any way to notify the victim or family it would be interesting to do that too. I looked and did not see any other tiger parts from that seller. Lee

There have been a couple of stories lately of a stolen car, Austin Healey and motorcycle being recovered and returned to the victims. If the seller has the car or know who owns it, there may be a chance of the Tiger being returned to the owner.

I just picked up a set of covers also. Maybe Norman can run these and we can get them back to the original Tiger.

I sure they would like them as I wish I had my originals.

It would be a great CAT project if we listed all the extra valve covers we have around and get them back to the original Tigers.

Here are the numbers of the set I have.

maybe the owner just didn't want them?

When I purchased my current Tiger in '89, it had 'Cobra' valve covers on it. At a CAT swap meet a couple of years later I found a nice set of 'Tiger' valve covers that were polished and blacked out.

A couple of decades later, I started a search for the original valve covers. Perhaps the previous owner was not a Tiger die-hard and didn't see any reason to keep the slightly roughed-up chrome valve covers- he gave them to another member of CAT, who was more than happy to have them reunited with the car after I found him.

Maybe the valve covers in question are just un-loved?!?

Norm,
What is the VIN attached to the valve covers?
It wasn't by chance my early 9470369 car that was ripped off in the late 70's was it?
It did have the original valve covers when it was taken.
