R and M Next week

And I like the Cosmics but in learning the nits to pick, I'm pretty sure the early ones are flat sided as shown are 1970's vintage:) And while it's Ultra Cool I would have to have a rag top std Tiger to go with it in Cali:cool:

BILLRo,
go to www.harringtonalpine.org , click on MODELS, then HARRINGTON TIGER. the whole story is there or go to the post on this forum that started on 12/04 . the original vin tag is supposed to be with the car.

I remember when the car was first restored and the "unveiling" at Bill's house up in Sacramento (I think...somewhere in that vicinity).

Truly unique Tiger. Not my cup of tea, in terms of design/style, but a special car. :)

I was there too as I helped assemble the car for Pebble Beach - we may know each other......
As far as the Cosmics--I believe these were the one's on the car when Bill brought the car home in the early 1980's.

R&M

I would love to have it setting in my garage next to my LeMans that is the only RHD LeMans in North America.

JMHO, but it looks like an Aston Martin DB5 which got stuck in the dryer on high heat. All the proportions are shrunk and no longer fit.

I'd take it as a gift, but If I had to look at it every day, I wouldn't pay a premium over an equivalent condition original recipe.

In person the car is beautiful--not only the restoration but the overall look from any angle. I would love to have it, should have bought it when it first went for sale last decade.

I remember well back when Bill was agonizing over wheter to "pull the trigger" to buy Harry for $20 K, in a phone call to me. I told him to jump all over it or let me. Needless to say, I didn't get the chance. I'm going to try to attend on Friday to see both it and the red Mk ll cross the block. Anyone know much about the Mk ll?

Hey...? where'd that last post go ??

Harrington went for $170K plus premium...

MkII 'only' $125K

Mikes mkii was indeed a well restored and documented car, but I think it shows a bubble at the end of last year that I suspect was the frenzy fed pebble beach week ... What shocked me was the 75k for the yellow car.. That seems high... Especially compared to the mkii. Anyway it shows it's always about the market .. Had 2 cashed up people wanted the mkii badly.. It could have been different

Looks like Harry went for close to $100k more than when it was sold in the early 2000's. Not bad for a car that was already restored.
