The remote oil plug unit has 2 grooves at the base, Does the origional have oil rings in the grooves, mine does not. The manual does not mention them,
To make it clearer I am refering to the unit that screws into the block where the oil filter fits on other cars.

I am refering to the standard unit that fits to the block and carries the oil away to the remote filter.
It has groves in the face that fits to the block What do the grooves do?

Well I am up to 122 views, wonder if I can reach 200 without a answer, maybe set a record.

Found my own answer, yes the base and plug have washers

The gasket is of firm composition for durability. The grooves allow the block to "indent" and grab the gasket under proper torque for a better seal.
