If you do, a sturdy strap around the spring end and pull it back . Don't put them back on too many holes in.. bets the boot just gently pops open not springs up too far...the springs are one of the reasons the boot panel gets warped
Yep thats what I did -Worked wellBy far the easiest way to remove the spring is to release the trunk stay mechanism from the trunk lid. You can then rotate it (the stay mechanism) and the spring will fall right off. The other side will have enough tension to hold the trunk open if it was properly installed. If you have any doubts, you can always wrap the hinge portion with masking tape.
