Alpines didn't have the Salisbury / Dana rear end. They were a Rootes item used in several vehicles. The gear he's looking for is the standard gear for an Alpine without an over drive unit. If the car had the over drive on the trans the rear end gear was a 4.22. When the Audax range of cars which included the fastback Alpine started production the gear ratio was changed to a 3.70.typo??? 2.88:1?? don't believe there is a 3.88:1 option for a Dana 44. I know there's a 3.54 and a 3.73....
I have one... complete diff, but I can pull the center section and ship. Kind of heavy to go to eastern Canada! But the diff would be cheap!Good Morning Searching for a Ring &Pinion 3.888.1 for a 1966 Sunbeam Alpine shipping to Montreal Canada
Actaully not all OD Alpines came with 4.22. Tne series 3 used the 3.89 in both standard and OD carsAlpines didn't have the Salisbury / Dana rear end. They were a Rootes item used in several vehicles. The Arrow series cars not audux were the ones that introduced the 3.70 ratio. When the Audax range of cars which included the fastback Alpine started production the gear ratio was changed to a 3.70.
The fastbacks (Rapier) in the U.K. had the 4:22 gear. I base this remark on the dealer literature that I have. The H120 had the 3:89 gear according to this dealer literature from the U.K. I've owned 4 of the U.S. Alpine fastbacks and have one left and two of them had the auto trans but they all had the 3:70 gear set. The U.S. spec cars had a lot of other differences to meet U.S mandates. This low mileage car retains it's original 4 speed trans and 3:70 gears. Specs may have varied depending on the country being exported to.The Arrow series cars not audux were the ones that introduced the 3.70 ratio.
I'm not sure for usa market...but the 3.70 was only in the holbay powered h120/gls cars in Uk and europe and the automatic cars in some export rhd markets, most used the 3.89.
did you find one? I just pulled the center section from an axle I had. I have no use for it. if you want it, it's yours for the shipping. would ship from Washington State.Good Morning Searching for a Ring &Pinion 3.888.1 for a 1966 Sunbeam Alpine shipping to Montreal Canada

I have absolutely no idea what you are taking about... language barrier??? I have only the center section... with the ring and pinion, the rest went to the skip... No axles, hubs or axle casing...I would be interested in the steel wheel hub
tossed outok i was interested in the hub on which the steel wheel bolts on
If you are looking for hubs to convert from wire wheels to studs post a wanted add on the SAOCA forum.. Or try and PM to member 65sunbeam hereThank you for your time
