September 22nd, 2024 CAT Meeting at the Central Coast British Car Club car show, Oxnard, CA

Hello All!
For our September meeting we will be joining the Central Coast British Car Club’s annual car show in Oxnard, CA.

This year the show will be returning to Channel Islands Harbor Park.
The show is open to all British Cars and is free for spectators. With an average of around 125 British cars there are a lot of beautiful cars to enjoy. The show is always a great time so plan on coming out and making a day of it. After reaching out to the officers of the CCBCC they said if they get more than three Tigers they will add a class and a section to the show. Sounds like a great way to represent! There will be food trucks, vendors, and a DJ.
The car show is judged by the participants, with an awards ceremony held at 1:30 pm. For our club meeting we will try for about 10am

4 Tigers made it to the show today; another one had an oil line issue and didn't make it. President Dan was there with the ex-Young Tiger, Mike Michels had his Lord Rootes winning car, a Tiger from Santa Barbara made its first outing in about 3 years, and then there was me. The weather was overcast and cool. 169 cars were entered in the show- their largest turnout ever. The Pipe band at lunch was great. Only registered participants can vote. When yours truly was called for 1st place in the Rootes group you could have knocked me over with a feather! I guess I should thank Steven Alcala for having the oil line issue- he was last year's winner and would have won again this year had he made it. Here's a few pics from the day...

It was a great show! The CCBCC people really do a great job and we were really envious of the banners they had made up new this year for all the marques. Also, the trophies were all really interesting. Individually created with vintage advertising artwork. Lots of thought went into their show this year. Hats off to them!
