shifter handles

In the discussion section of this forum the talk is short and long shifter handles. My shifter broke the T bar, so no reverse. Does anyone have an extra shifter since I've not pulled it out and sent it to Bill Heeley rebuild it.

Is the T bar and rod all one or are they separate? If so you will need to say either long or short handle. I was getting ready to send Bill a long handle assy I have for a core charge. PM me.

to buy or borrow?

if to buy.. just get a repro one for the moment.. the T bar wont function but there is no lockouit tab to prevent you going into reverse .. so just be careful to feel the springing on the reverse gear so you dont go backwards at the traffic lights. My hurst has no lockout.. so just have to pay attention.

If your lock-out bar broke you can make a temp. one. I used a small combo wrench and filed a groove in the center and the box end down a bit thinner.

I was on the road but if you have a piece of stock at hand you could shape it to look similar to original if looks are important.
