Steel rivets for headlamp assy?

I am assuming that the headlamp assy's are used as the ground for the headlights, correct?

That would mean that they probably used steel, vice aluminum rivets so that they wouldn't have dissimilar metals and cause corrosion?

I had new rubbers, so it required me to remove the headlamp assy's.

Nope: There is a separate black lead from the light harness that plugs into the copper butterfly under the forward hood buffers.

3/16 " rivets

Installed the rivets, and new bright headlights. Along with the LED set that I purchased from Joe Parlanti; both dash and exterior lights. All looks good, even the clock that I got restored along with group CAT offer due to Lee Pearl.

Still need to put the hardtop glass in as well.

After sleeping 30+ years, still had one original Lucas headlight, 35A fuse, and turn signal can.

I will put them in my safe and wait for the purists who will need old Lucas marked stuff :D

I should have the car running after it's Rip Van Winkle by the end of the month.:D

Thanks
