"SUNBEAM" on front

The MKI tigers have the SUNBEAM lettering, on the MKIA they deleted the lettering on the front, the MKII has it deleted, but a SUNBEAM script on the bonnet in the lower LHS corner.

Sounds like it may have had a small love tap on the front before its rather larger bump.
So far, with the major restore, I have found a earlier biggish bump left side, left front fender cut and shut, now has additional damage. Left door, hit and repaired. Right side later major hit, front valance to be replaced. Right front fender off, to be replaced. Right door to be replaced. Right rear fender to be removed and replaced. So I was thinking, may remove the left front fender as well and replace it too. So, you are thinking, a "few weeks" work?

Steve, the cross over body MKI's still have the letters as per all MKI.. it's not until the MKIA (vynil hood cover and fresh air vents) that they went to the shaved front.
As a side note some of the early MKIA's and early SV alpines had cross over bodies.. as in square corner bonnet (hood) and doors with round cornered boot (trunk)

B382000078 came with a shaved nose (no letter)and is a cross over body. I got tired of dealing with the letters on the boot lid and welded up those holes with the last re-hab.

we have an early series 5 alpine that has square corner hood and doors with round corner trunk. no letters on the front. the same body used for early MKia tigers. you'll find that the fender seams at the windshield area and the rockers are the only seams that were not leaded in. one probem we have seen pop up on many cars is that the lead cracks in the seams near the trunk hinges where the fenders and the panel between them are connected. this has happened to my series 4 and 5 alpines. we remove the lead and weld this area up when restoring the bodies. my series 4 also had a crack starting to show in the lead at the left side of the windshield where the fender attaches. we remove all the lead in all of the seams i also think you will find some of the early panels in the center of the front grill area where the letters go are stamped underneath but not thru the outer skin. anyone else found this?
