The tachometer electronics replacement board that I've been building for over 10 years now gives proper current-sensing tach function with aftermarket ignitions like Pertronix, and Mallory Unilite, and can also be wired to the tach output of multispark controllers such as the MSD or Jacobs ignitions. Unlike the MSD add-on box, the new circuit board does not make noises and since it installs inside the tach, it doesn't clutter up your car.

No externally visible parts required. In the US, contact Tom Hall for tach upgrades using these boards, otherwise shoot me a message.

The pictures describe the first generation of boards that I built; the current board is three revisions beyond that so the appearance is a little different but the principles are the same.
