Tiger hood done

I was really going back and forth on how I wanted to do my hood---so I blended both ideas together. I had a 427 Cobra scoop installed with custom holes under it for the air, then had LAT style vents added. It's now off to the paint shop to get some more work done, still deciding whether to completely blow it apart and restore it, ot just spot the front clip and enjoy it ??????
The rivots are on now just to hold the scoop, when done they will fill all the holes.

The hood should come up good when finished. Decisions decisions, drive it or restore it. Driving it is cheaper:D

Bobrakidz,

What is the reason for several holes under the scoop as opposed to a single larger hole over the area for the carb? Also did you know that the bonnet is a SI/II Alpine one?

What makes you say that Michael, the series 2 I know of has the bonnet stay mounted accross the top of the scuttle, not at the right side of the front guard. Like this one.

The fab guy was going to make one big hole but decided that these would look better, plus it would give the center of the hood more strength this way. I know the hood is not original, made it an easier decision to cut it up. I wanted to give the car a little character, part of the reason for the custom hood.

Steven... if you have a look at the photo, you will see that the bonnet indeed still has the prop stand on the rear edge of the bonnet.. which is the first really obvious give away.. then there is the earlier style pressing on the front left of the double skin.

As for your comment about the S2's the last run of them in late '62 and '63actually have the stay on the side allowing a wider opening of the bonnet.

I take it that underhood clearance was not your objective.

My main objective was cooling, second was appearance. I didn't have a clearance problem, but it was close.
