Hello All. I'd like to start with a big Thank You to all the people who put on another great Tigers United. This year I didn't bring my car but I still felt welcomed by my large Tiger family. Nothing like fresh memories of a great event to dive under the hood, dash etc.
I especially enjoyed finally meeting Mr. Graham Vickery. During the awards banquet I won a couple items, one of which was an AMT Tiger model kit. This is my second one so I regifted the first one back to My friend Chris who actually won it at Monterey. An old idea was reborn. Many of you probably have one of theese up on a shelf waiting to be built. Time for "Some assembly required". The deadline, Tigers United Sacramento.( Possible mini concourse in the hospitality suite) Or via photos here on the site. The rest I leave to you all. HAVE FUN!

Kit's at

Sunbeam Specialties as I understand. I have one that followed me home from a swap meet. It would be a great Winter project but no Winter in So.Cal.

It would be really great to some kids involved maybe that'll be easier if we have some more flex alert power shortages in CaliforniašŸ˜‰

I've seen these kits advertised online for ages but I have never seen one assembled.

It would be great to see one built.

I think my model building days are over. Shaky hands, short attention span and dodgy vision isn't a good recipe for an accurate recreation.

Having said that the Jensen handiwork was a bit hit and miss.........:)

M20

...on the CAT parts list. I've had a couple over the years. First one I built modified- the cat knocked it off the shelf so now it looks like a barn find awaiting restoration. Usually, I get the model nearly done, get glue all over the windows, get frustrated, put a fire-cracker in the model and blow it up. Have one waiting in the box for assembly. Need to find where I put the fire-crackers...

I built one of the AMT models a couple years ago.

Ha ha that's funny.

I did a similar thing with a 1/24th P-51 Mustang model.
It had taken me ages to do and when it was finished I parked it on the dining table to admire. In the night the cat chewed the ends of the propeller blades. Straight in the wheelie bin.

I like it

Can tell it's a USA restoration.. engine bay is painted black

I like my engine compartment painted black. I don't know how many times I have given it a squirt of rattle can paint to cover boo-boos. :)

I did not build this but thought it was cool.....I would love a real car like this.

Tiger model at Santa Maria Concours

I'm way ahead of the game for Sacramento TU. here's my car sitting on my car at the Concours in Santa Maria. One tip: don't use the display case in the sun, the plastic soft top boot warped.
