@theo_s thank you so much.... G-d damn that car is just perfection..both quality of the restoration..but also Doanes modifications..both effective and just aesthetically stunning... I've loved this car since I saw the black and white photos in the "tiger making of a sports car " book...

Yeah it is an amazing car. Hopefully Dave brings it to the concours tomorrow. In retrospect I probably should have shot a few hundred more pictures 😉

If you get a chance...please do.. and detail pics of the tonneau , the front guard vents and the tapered ridge around them ... The relief in the sills for the exhaust.. the rear nudge bar...the aero screen....

Appears Dave put ppf on the front...good idea, but probably should have done the whole front guards into the bonnet drains and back to the doors to avoid the seam.

Beautiful! I wonder if it still has the 350hp 260 in it?
Id say it has more HP than in period.
When the care was sold at the end of 65 Doane allegedly took many of his special bits off as they were his work not property of rootes.. that said the car was still fast after ..

Such a pity the Sports car graphic Alpine he built vanished.. that also has his beautiful fabrication and design magic on it too

It is in the post by theo_s, posted on Thursday, 4:53 PM (based on California time). Just click on "Video from pace laps at Laguna Seca:" in theo_s's post.

Call me dense, but all I see are the pace laps in theo's post. The line of Tigers all wove between two cones at the beginning, but I wouldn't exactly call that an autocross.

I believe that is the only video from TU 44 posted on the Forum. Maybe Michael King will jump in and explain what video he was referring to.

Theos video is the journey from the parking to the parade laps..
The screen shot I grabbed was a video of the inspection for the auto X.. didn't show the guys and girls come running...

I only shot video for the pace laps. The autocross itself took about two hours, I'm pretty sure that YouTube would not let me upload that since I'm not currently a frequent poster there. Some other attendees may have shot some video or photos at the event.

Concours photos
Next time I'll do it right and just shoot all the entrants once they're set up.

Theo....did you ask them to fit the headers to the back of the jet? Personally I would have taken them as carry on.... 😁
The rules for carry-on (at least for economy) don't let a box that large go in the cabin. It worked out fine. Jere Teepen had cut the box down to minimum size, which probably helped in terms of avoiding oversize baggage costs, and concerns over stuff rattling in a box. Most airline staff have no idea what headers are and I had to explain several times what exactly it was that I was trying to take with me, and that yes, they were not dangerous goods.
