Ok, I have a lot of tools and two different grinders, but neither will fit into to tight area to remove the welds in the door jam area of the rockers. Since this is my first rodeo for removing a complete rocker, any recomendations?
All spot weld are free and the lead is gone, I just need a close quarters grinder......TODAY!

I usually use a die grinder to get into tight spots... I have both 1/4" and 1/8" varieties...
The key to getting them to work is to have good quality carbide cutters on them... steel cutters are junk

Ok, I'm settling for a die grinder, but I can't find the steel cutting tips. I have a 60 gallon tank compressor so air not an issue.

Thanks for the input. I'm new to the panel work so this is fun.

Die Grinder

It makes the long shaft grinding burrs easier to control and work with if you get a 1/4" ID ball bearing or two to put on the shaft, as a place to hold on too.
I second the above opinion about using solid carbide - lasts way longer. I usually order from McMaster-Carr.

Well, you we're right about the cheep steel bits. Smoked one on the first weld and got nowhere. Going to have to shop higher grade on-line.

I've found that some large Auto parts stores will carry them... Jet brand and others... not sure which in the U.S. ... NAPA maybe ? look for 'carbide burr' . Lots online of course... I was just looking at some from Eastwood
Last one I bought was about $30... have yet to wear one out but I need a different shaped one once in a while
Good luck with it as I know it's not the 'fun' part of restoration :(

Carbide bit on a dremel will reach almost anywhere. Cheap (maybe $10-20?) and will do the trick for a few spot welds. Easy to control and not hack into the wrong thing.
