TripleX Glass Date Codes

I was curious about the date codes in my Tigers glass, and found some info at an MG site.

Basically if you know the decade your glass was produced, you can find the quarter by looking for a dot above the TRIPLEX logo, and the year with a dot below the "LAMINATED" or "TOUGHENED."

A dot above T, R, E, or X gives the quarter of the year the glass was manufactured:
  • T is Jan, Feb, March,
  • R is April, May, June,
  • E is July Aug, Sept,
  • X is Oct, Nov, Dec.
To find the year the glass was manufactured, look at the nine letters in the word TOUGHENED or LAMINATED.
One dot below a letter gives the year of the decade:
  • L or T is 1,
  • A or O is 2,
  • M or U is 3,
  • I or G is 4,
  • N or H is 5,
  • A or E is 6,
  • T or N is 7,
  • E or E is 8,
  • D or D is 9
If there is no dot, the year is a zero.

Assuming my glass was made in the 60's, my windshield was made in Oct-Dec of 64, and doesn't look too bad for 55+ years old. My right wing and door glass are Apr-Jun of 63. Left wing and door are are Jul-Sep of 64. The windshield has "LAMNINATED" and the others have "TOUGHENED." Car was born in Dec 1964. Pic of windshield logo:

Great info I'll be checking my car .
I have a 1969 USC parking permit sticker I'm going to hate to loose.

Sorry my sticker is on the lower part of the window. I'm probably going to keep the car for a while longer and I was sitting on the fence about keeping the original glass even though it has a slight wiper groove in it. It's incredibly tough to take an original car and start fixing it up for me. Obviously if it had a stone bruise or running crack it'd be easier. My late car has all the original glass in it as well as the original Amco top in it's old hard dry glory.
