Hoping to find one or two original clutch slave cylinders that are a tad past their prime but with re-sleeve of cylinder could be usable.

I've done a few and luv the results. As long as the casting corrosion is minimal, they should out live us all.

Use the 1" out of a Triumph my Centerforce clutch was about 40 lbs to engage. Now it's about 20 .
We had a small scale under the foot on the pedal . Highly unscientific but easier on the old bones

I have never tried anything but stock slave size. I am using centerforce and never thought the clutch pedal was too hard. But, going back in time to the 80's I remember using McCleod setup in a Tiger and that was a hard pedal for sure. I guess I could try a larger 1", is it just a simple as buying a new 1" Triumph setup for the piston. and having stock Tiger slave sleeved to 1". Any thoughts, pro/con on stock vs larger 1" clutch slave setup

Depends on your knees and ankles and the type of driving. Before it was had trouble making it 15 minutes to the freeway. In stop and go every other light. Now it's about an hour and more tolerable to get to the freeway. Probably about 10 to 15 lbs more than the MK2 stock .

I have not done the machining to put in a sleeve,

but have had it done a LONG time ago.

Recently I saw a different sleeved clutch slave and noticed

the sleeve is moving.

And I also noticed the inside bore surface was no longer pristine.

Parts that are used don't live forever.

BTW, I have bored a few slave cylinders from 7/8" to 1"

and I AM concerned of long term durability.

The bored out slave cylinders are quite thin walled.

So, boring and sleeved to 1" size is NOT suggested.

The picture has a 1" OD SS sleeve.

So .. anyone have an old Girling clutch slave that is past prime and just sitting around they want to sell ?

So, boss-tiger, I guess what I am getting to is, have you priced a new slave cylinder?

Unless you do the work your self, I expect the sleeve job to be more than a new part.

And unless your Tiger is a daily driver, original aluminum will last a LONG time,

most likely longer than the rubber inside.

Does anyone know what the length of travel the slave cylinder piston makes on a 7/8 bore slave cylinder using a 5/8 bore master cylinder.

Or better yet the stroke length of the clutch master cylinder piston
If you have a strong high pedal the slave might stroke 1-1/8" in practical movement. The master has 2" plus of bore but the pedal mechanics restrict plunge to about 1-3/8" on a good day.
