What was the correct paint on these?

Seat frame seems indentical to soft top frame grey. The outer hinge cover is lighter than black to me.

Could be faded but equal in color at all four locations.

So, for MKIA 428 I'd suggest crinkle like grey. It's darker than the seat frame, but lighter than a black. iMO

Interested in others findings.
 
Yes it is a black wrinkle finish. It didn't change from alpine to tigers through out the production that I have seen in restoring the seats. It's always been black and it may look a lighter shade but remember it's flat and textured so it will reflect light different than a smooth finish in the same color. Brad
