Hi, I have tried the search function and still have not found exactly what I'm looking for. Trying to repair an early round door car drivers side window regulator. The quarter moon gear teeth are damaged on one of the far ends that subsequently limits the upper travel of the window. Window rolls up well until about 3/4 and then slips. I previously replaced the small round gear and only reattached 2 of the 3 rivets and tacked welded the other (did not initially understand how to access all three 3 yrs ago when I started back into the Tiger hobby). Tack weld failed so the flex caused uneven wear on the bigger 1/4 moon gear is my theory.
So, if I have several later style regulators, has anyone drilled out spot welds on the early regulator and simply reattach them (2 brackets) in the correct orientation of a later model regulator of the same side? Yes, I could search for a used, correct piece as well. The earlier regulator seems not as prevalent, and I would be happy to retrofit a part I already have. Just trying to button up the doors to maintain some forward progress. I probably should place an inquiry in parts wanted as well for an early drivers regulator. Thanks for any help or guidance. R&R window regulators is super fun...
