Thanks to one of our own Cobrakidz.
A guy selling a roll bar in Central Calif. and posting some other stuff on Epay.
I contacted him and found he had some other Tiger stuff and was worthy of investigation.
Turns out this guy was too flaky to risk me driving 6 hours . Looking at the map Folsom where the Kidz hangs is 30 min. away. He went and picked it up and looked at some other Tiger parts he was interested in but couldn't get the LAT hood or steering rack from the squeaky tight seller.
Well it turns out I told kidz I had been initially looking for a model as a local VW pal was a builder of bars on my previous pretend hot rods to hell toy cars for reproduction. He liked the bar when he tried it for a fit and took it to his local fab guy who built 2 more for 300 each.
Then Kidz finds out it is too big for usual shippers and would cost 160 each, but finds Greyhound bus will do both for 100 bucks. Clearly you get what you pay for when you ship Greyhound but eventually they showed up 15 miles away in Long Beach. If you have ever been to a Greyhound bus terminal remember to bring your bottle of Purell Yuck!
Autopower in San Diego is well over 700 for these bars new, and the welds are very pretty and hi quality on the fab guys work.
Kidz has a roll bar for his car I got one to fit my car so well, "My car had a Autopower bar with PO" so the bolt holes line up yeeeehaw. Lee my buddy gets the other bar.
We are all happy cause we worked together, Kidz more than me and Lee, Thanks for working together Cobrakidz! It is refreshing when we all do our best to at least do a good turn daily, or in this case spred out over several days!
