Custom Wheels?

I've been looking at a lot of Tiger pictures and it seems to me the custom wheel choices are pretty limited. Would converting the car to five lugs increase the choice selection? How hard is this to do?

There are a reasonable amount of wheels open to the 4x108 PCD the sunbeams use, as its comon to porsche 924, saab 900 (early models) ford capri, escort, mustang II. However you have to watch the offsets as they are often not ideal from sunbeams.

While the superlite/minilite/panasport typerims are popular due to availablility/size/offset and the fact they are period for the car they do get a bit comon. There are good alternatives from VTO, PS wheels, Image wheels and period options from Sunbeam Specialties of the LAT 70s.

You then have period wheels you can find on ebay etc..dunlop D1's, cosmics, revolution revolites, Eneki etc.. but they are generally 13" x 6

Do you want 13, 14 o 15" wheels? Period or modern looking?

People have gone to 5 stud, and it would open up choice.. but depends what choice you want.

I'm not into the current big wheel/thin tire look. I'm thinking a 14" AC Cobra style wheel with narrow spokes would be nice. I don't care for the curved spokes.

crazy..........:)

I'm with you on the 14"s. Perhaps a 6" in the rear and a 5" in front. PS Engineering makes some nice wheels but they are not cheap.

The wheel thing still has me up in the air.

I think you really want to speak to PS wheels, they do a variety of style halibrand replica wheels (which are likely going to cover what you want) and they are cheaper than Image wheels in the Uk that also do some halibrand style wheels. Another advantage of PS wheels is they a familiar with the tigers and their offsets.

As for sizes, 14x6 on the front works fine and on the rear.. though some prefer 14x7 on the back to even out the stance.
