I'm in the process of installing a 7" Lockheed brake booster in my Tiger. How critical is the 25-45 degree mounting angle as specified in the instructions? Many thanks!

Here is mine mounted, works like a charm.

I have seen them mounted with the air filter down too.

There must be a valid reason why the manufacturer specifies this mounting angle. I have mine mounted with the air valve underneath (like Duke mentioned) at an angle and vacuum inlet on top so that I could get it to the required angle. When mounted this way, both of my mounting brackets are bolted to the booster underneath the support (Duke has one above and one below, as shown in the last picture).

Great! The air control valve/filter positioned low is said to aid bleeding of the brake hydraulics. No reason is given for the specified angle of the booster. Duke, your mounting proves that neither mounting spec is essential. I'll likely mount the unit with the filter low like wag123's, and it looks like I can achieve a booster angle of about 19 degrees.

Thank you both for your help.
