Trying some different filters. The K&N base was taller (larger radius to carb base) then the Spectre (flat square), so trying the short base and getting some measurements. The 2" filter is going to need 2.75" of height at the front as well as the center of the filter. Can flatten the top of the filter a bit for maybe 3/8". Add 1" more for the desired 3" element if that one is used, and given the need breathing of the motor going to see what scoops cab work. Shelby Cobra scoop is out, way too short .
Also tossed on the 10" x 2" Gaffrig flame arrestor and its not bad, but definitely not a filter without at least a wrap. I have an 8" one with a flat base that may also be good for the track possibly after unwrapping most of the flame quenching mesh just to keep rocks out, but not my prefrence.
