eBay prices
I'd be very skeptical about some of the high prices for "sales" on eBay, both on the BON and on Tigers. While I was looking for a Tiger last year, more than once I'd drop out of the eBay bidding at my budget price of $25,000, the car would then have 2 or 3 other bidders run it up to 30k or more, usually in the last 2 minutes. Then, a day or so (and once only about 15 minutes) after the bidding ended the seller would send me a "second chance offer" and say that the top bidder(s) turned out to be a fraudulent bidder(s), their bid(s) were canceled, and I was the new top bidder, and I could buy the car for the top bid price. Usually gave only 24 hrs to make a decision. It seemed obvious that the sellers were using shills to run up the prices - and my contention was, if the top bidders were fraudulent and I was the highest real bidder, shouldn't I get the car for MY top bid, not theirs? I went to look at one of the cars that was local and it turned out to be a real piece of junk, the pictures that had been posted with the auction looked like they'd been taken at least 10 years and a ton of wear and tear previous. I passed on all those offers and wound up contacting a seller on a really nice project car that didn't meet reserve and buying it for a couple grand over what the top bid was.
SO, don't believe all you see on eBay as actual selling prices!
