The January CAT meeting will be held on Saturday, January 18, at the Nethercutt Museum and Collection, 15151 Bledsoe St., Sylmar, CA 91342. The meeting will be at 9:00 a.m. After the meeting, we will get a free tour of the Museum, followed by free tour of the Collection. For information about the Nethercutt Museum and Collection, go to http://www.nethercuttcollection.org.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

NOTE: If you are planning to do the tour, please notify Buck Trippel (310-545-2487 or BuckTrippel@verizon.net) so that he can give them a head count.

While all can view the museum or attend the CAT meeting, the number allowed on the special tour of the collection is limited and based on those who have RSVP'ed to be placed on the tour list. We still have some tour spots open so let me know ASAP.

thanks,

Restoration shop tour

I went to the Nethercutt museum with Packards International many years ago.(Two charted busses) There was a dress code-no jeans, collered shirt, leathered bottom shoes (maybe a Packard Club thing?) Museum was nice but the Restoration Shop Tour (not open to the public) is a once in a lifetime experiance. Employee benefits include all meals prepaired by on site chefs,on site dental office. First class all the way. All paid for by Merle Norman cosmetics (Jack Nethercutts aunt);)

On a side note Warren and I will be going to the Bob's Big Boy cruise in Burbank Friday night if anyone is in the area....:D

The Collection

The auto museum is nice & The collection is nice (huge pipeorgons and such witch they will play very loud) Maybe President b.t. can work his magic & get Restoration shop tour included

New President

Good.... Terms in office should be regulated. Unlike Cuba with ruler Fidal Castro for over 40 years.( Is there a new Vice Prez?)

Nethercutt Meeting - Part 1

The meeting at the Nethercutt Museum and Collection was well attended. I figured there were over 20 folks who came with our club. We had great weather for Tigering - blue skies and temps in the 60s - 70s.

There are two parts to the Nethercutt - the Museum and the Collection. There are many fine cars in both, but not all of the cars can be displayed at any one time. Amongst the fine automobiles are many show winners, including Best of Shows from Pebble Beach.

The Collection has more than just automobiles. There are other things collected by the Nethercutt family, including Hummel figurines, Lalique crystal, and mechanical music machines (think of nickelodeons on steroids) that incorporate all sorts of musical instruments. They had a 1918 Wurlitzer Theater Organ console, that could replicate about any sound needed for the silent movies of the era. Most of the items were not roped off, but touching was strictly forbidden.

The Museum had lots of wonderful automobiles, but most of these were roped off.

The Museum is free and open to the public. The Collection, while being free, is a guided tour, with reservations. highly recommended. Thanks go out to ex-Prez Buck Trippel for arranging this venue.

In both the Collection and the Museum, flash photography is not allowed.

Nethercutt Meeting - Part 2

Here are some photos from the Nethercutt Collection. As stated before, there were many fine automobiles on display. The main floor was set up to look like a Packard showroom floor of the 10s through the mid 30s. No wonder some of the cars cost more than the typical cost of a house! Other floors had the other collections.

Also, recognition goes to Bruce Brincka, who drove down from Folsom. Hope you had a nice, safe drive back, Bruce!

It was great to meet everyone and what a nice collection they have at the museum. The hood ornament collection was amazing, never knew they made that many different styles, and some were huge. Hopefully I can make more of these meetings, it had me on the edge of my seat......... :)
Actually it went quickly and had some good info, fantastic job guys.
and my wife was happy that I did not bring those 2 Sunbeam doors back home---thanks Warren.....

Very nice meeting yesterday, Mike M. assured everyone that all 2014 CAT meetings will held at locations at least as elegant as the Nethercutt Museum.

Neathercutt Pics

There was a great turnout and fantastic weather on Saturday. A long way from San Clemente so Bonnie and I plus Demi Bonnie's puppy in training for service took the wagon. Sorry I did not take the camera into the Museum but here are some shots as the Members gathered at the Neathercutt Museum.
