I'm off to Monterey tomorrow. For those that don't know, there is a lot to do before the big weekend and most of it is free to cheap.

So here is the itinerary:
Friday Alvarado Street race car show
Sat-Sun Pre-Historic races
Monday maybe kayak on the Bay
Tuesday Concours on the Avenue, and Classic Motorsports Kick Off Cruise in
Wednesday Monterey Car Week Rally, and Little Car Show
Thursday Baja Cantina with Tiger guys, and Tour D'elegance.
Check out cars as they prep for auctions all week long.

Head home Friday morning and hopefully pass by the Italian Stampede as they are rolling into the area.

Hope to see some of you. Mat

Mat--you are going to miss the big photo op at the track Friday. Have a great week down there.

I had to choose between taking the wife and kids or the tiger. Believe me I am aching over this. I could have towed the tiger but dealing with a truck trailer and another car seems to be a problem for the motel. Maybe I'll be there for the 75th anniversary.

Plans change

I had a spot with a fellow Tiger owner but he pulled a Greta Garbo "I want to be alone," at the last minute.

Lucky that Derek is camping at Sunset Beach and has offered up a spot. Now the 66 Tiger is probably the worst dirt camping machine about and I am resorting to my driver and trailer with toys a CT110 and a CB 160 Honda. Since I will be 53 miles out and with unknown parking and related congestion towing the bikes to within 5 or 10 miles and puttering up leaves open easy in and out access. It is the 1st time for me at this event and I do not know what to expect. I'd like to take my Tiger but 6 hours on a old car that has had 3000 miles in the last 20 years is problematic. Not to mention a hour drive every day I'm there to the events. It seems like taking the small tiddler and the whopping 18 horse CB 160 will be like a taking a snack cracker to a banquet but I am out of ideas.

Any suggestions are welcome

You should respect your elders, I do have a pair and a pair of AAA cards and another service card.

Try reading the threads of the UK gents who poke fun at each other in one with their much much more sorted cars all being carried on the backs of flat bed lorries in the dead position. I never owned a car that was new till I was 50 or one that was under 15 years old. I have broken down on the way to 6 hour away ski slopes and changed clutches in parking lots used spit and bailing wire and metal coffee cans tied about mufflers, and other things to hold many a car together and limp my way about town. I have done my time turning up the radio to cover the noise of the complaining old car while chewing fingernails hoping I get to my destination.

I know you mean well but you hit a bad nerve , and the smile is not much help.
