Tiger?? Headers

I got this set of headers with B9471705, the PO said they were on the car when he bought it in 1967. They've been sitting around since he blew up the motor in 1973. Someone did some REAL amateur brazing "work" on them, what we refer to in the business as "turkey crap". However, the metal seems fairly thick and solid, the rust is a pretty thourough coating of surface rust, but the metal doesn't seem to be thin in any location. If they're some desirable form of Tiger header I'm unaware of... and you feel like spending the time to get them back into useable condition, let me know if you want them. Available for $0 if you come and pick them up, or packing/shipping costs.

HEADERS

LOOK TO BE SANDERSON HEADERS FROM THE 70'S. ALSO AVAILABLE THROUGH JC WHITNEY. GOT A SET IN THE SHED. FIT AND FINISH LEAVES SOMETHING TO BE DESIRED.

Attached is a crop from a photo taken of some of my Tiger parts in 2010, showing some old Sanderson headers I had on my car from 1971 until 1980. Sorry it is a little fuzzy, but I had to do some cropping of an area of the picture that was not the main focus.

I did not think the fit or finish on the headers were too bad. Note that they had flanges at the end of the collector. The headers that Bob have clearly show some hack-job welding there.

And, no, I do not still have the headers. Sold them at the CAT swap meet a few years ago.

Those look like J.C. Whitney headers. I've got a set. They fit really well with no difficulty with oil filter.

Headers

Well, they're better than the headers I don't have, so I'll give them a shot. How do we do this? I've never bought anything from a forum before... Lol

PM sent. :D

They sure look like the Whitney headers to me (except for the obvious battle damage & mods).

We run the JC Whitney headers on my wife's Tiger. I love way the they free up the engine compartment. They do a very nice job.

Ours were made for JC Whitney by Ermie Immerso's Thunderbird Products before that company was sold to Pertronix. (Thunderbird at one time made CAT's headers.)

I have no idea if Sanderson ever contracted with Whitney.
