...So unfortunately composite units won't work :(

I'm not in a rush so hopefully I can find some decent rings or wait for a repop unit to hit the market.

Cheers, -Kevin

Well, I have some originals in the vault next to the M-60 if you can get a second mortgage.

I have my rims on display in the china hutch along with a lot of other rare NOS items.

MKII?SV?singer/husky rims used ot be worth big $... the market has calmed down a lot since.. the peak was the rush when lost of peoeplw ere wanting to change the look on the cars... there must have been about 60 sets over a 5 year period... all big $... now most who REALLY wanted them have them so things have calmed down.

I put NOS chrome ones on my alpine and tiger... i keep a couple of spares incase of the worst.. i have also give a NOS one away to a friend who lost one and a decent used pair to another owner.... boththtos eguys have always been amazingly helpful to me.

I'm not in a hurry so I have plenty of time to hunt for an 'affordable' set if I should be so lucky. Hopefully there will be enough interest in these that some repop's will hit the market.
Cheers, -Kevin

Cast

Kevin they are a cast part, the problem is as cast pot metal is hard to plate, and plating is big dough $400 seems an average non eBay price for a painted set add plating and it seems $600 is a good ball park.
Oh, when I say non eBay I mean I have seen 2 sets drift in and out of the CAT swap meet at that spoken of price 1 sale and 1 no sale as seller was unsure.

Of course, if you have the means.....

Where I live there is a old rootes dealer, its very nice what you can find if you get him in good mood. Iam sure I have seen headlight rims. :D

Sheesh! There hasn't been a Rootes dealer within $500 miles of us since 71'. Let me know if you uncork a set . . . .good buddy.

Well at least I know where the market price is...
I had the means, but I blew it on a 'Smart' car!

I know of a Rootes dealer in Campbell, Well... sort of...:D

Composite MK II headlight rims from the barn loft. Purchased from a Florida restoration shop. He did not indicate where they came from.

I am sure you would have no problem selling those, of course to the people behind me in line.. :)

Good discussion and food for thought on some new items. No market demand for the valve stem tool and they seem to be available. .99 bid on the item with one day left on the auction only 10 watchers. Lee

I wager the valve stem tool will go for $5.08.

Any takers?

Closest guess wins an opportunity to purchase a new repo Mk II headlight door if they become available.

someone ran it up to 19.50 to probably see what another bidder was willing to give.

Ah shucks!

But I already have MK II headlight doors on my car anyway so no biggie. LOL

$18-25 is quite a spread. I was hoping to start something more like a football pool going just for the heck of it.

It is not a market test unless nobody messes with the auction. But this will not be an item needed now that a supplier has been located and people will be able to add these to their tool kits. Even $20 seems steep for a .02 cent piece of plastic. Lee

Math

He has a pal shill it up to 20 bucks he pays eBay 1.50 sound like easy evil money. eBay is liars poker with a stacked deck and marked cards.

The club should make these and other little parts then they would be like 3.99

there are times I bid just to see where the price is going. sometimes I bid a dozen times to the point I would pay for the item. that tells me whether I should dig into my bins and sell or just let the parts set. there are also sellers on e bay who list something and then don't want to ship all of it. I 've had that happen. those are the ones to watch out for. especially after the item has been paid for.
