more pics monterey 2014

Those are great pics. Next year should be just as fun (at least for me) as they are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the GT350. The place will be crawling with V8's roaring around the area.

Me Too - already booked my invitation to stay in a friends motorhome parked on the track. Next need is to get my car brought from S. CA

Next August's Monterey races should be great. The GT350s have been given a special class of their own and will race on Saturday.

The the Ap/Bp group they usually race with will run on Sunday. (Normally there are about a dozen GT350s in that class so there should be room for a few more Vettes, Cobras or TIGERS! I'm keeping my fingers crossed.)

Since I live right here in Carmel and many of my friends are directly involved either in the races or manage the hotels in the area let me give you some first hand info. The marque car for 2015 will be Ferrari again, the last time was about five or so years ago. I had lunch last week with the Manager of the Portola Hotel and he told me the hotel is now booked 100% for the historic week and just about all of the hotels are now booked as Ferrari USA has advanced booked most everything. The Ferrari club will have their annual club events during the historic week. So if you like RED you will love August here
but be prepared for no place to stay and extremely high prices. Most places are requiring a four night minimum and the prices per night are around $450, peanuts if you own a Ferrari !!! If you are thinking about selling a Tiger at Auction during August here this just might be another mega buck venue do I hear $250 thousand...yes the man in the red suit......oh wait there are two red suits do I hear $260 thousand...yes.... my Tiger won't be for sale

Moondoggie

Moondoggie, I think you accidentally made a typo.

While Ferrari may be the honored marque in 2016 (the next "international year" as they seem to alternate between international and domestic marques), the marque for 2015 has been announced as the GT 350 in the year of its 50th anniversary.

I imagine that Ford's planning another big display like they put on a few years ago for the Shelby Cobra.

btw, the applications are already open and I know of 3 Tigers who have already applied.
