Today turned out to be a beautiful day for a rally up Angeles Crest Highway in SoCal. There were four Tigers in the lot at the start of the Rally, organized by the Morgan Owners Club. There were a few other CAT members who showed up without their Tiger. However, many of the CAT folks chose not to do the Rally, and our club had only three entries - two Tigers and one Prius. One of the Tigers scored in the top 5 of non-Morgan entries! The Austin-Healey club had a great turnout. The route took us through some of the areas that suffered a large forest fire a couple of years back. The brush has come back, but there were more than a few burnt and dead trees.
001 - Two of the Tigers and some CAT members in the starting lot
002 - Two Other Tigers in the background, some of the other cars
003 - The two Tigers, with one of the many Austin-Healeys that were there
004 - Some of the CAT members having a very serious discussion
005 - Another photo of the serious discussion taking place between two Tigers
006 - Some of the various cars that showed up at the starting lot
007 - Bill G. and Michele W. checking out Bill's Tiger
008 - Mike M.'s and Paul P.'s Tigers wearing their rally numbers
009 - Bill G., Mat T., and Mike M. carrying on a conversation before the start of the rally
010 - A pair of beautiful Healeys lined up to start the rally. The orange Healey was NOT running an Austin engine - good ol' American mill in that puppy!

And here are a few more photos.

By the way, some of the photos in these two postings were taken by my wife.

As we gaze upon your photos, I am sure I am not the only one from less temperate climes who feels the pangs of withdrawl and envy. After scraping the ice off my front steps and shoveling the walk...it made my day.

Please Remember That

Please remember that when we come begging for a cup of water!

Car wash guy rain today

Yesterday it was like June marine layer near the beach, glad it was nice 20 something miles inland.

Family got in the way of my play car time but 4 hours with my clutch loosing a full reservoir of fluid seemed like a gamble as well.

Great pics.

I hope we have a good turn out at the Iowa and possibly a run about the Palos Verdes Peninsula after.

It's All Relative

When we had TAC #9 in San Diego, she & I charged out early to tour the PCH and do some lazy cruising. As we left La Jolla, the marine layer landed with a thud and the world went blind . . . . .still, much better than pushing snow around the yard.

I hate to say nice pics for fear of getting blasted.......sooo, how was the drive? Any break downs with all those Brit cars? Over the years I have gotten tired of sitting in parking lots at shows, it sure is a treat to get out and drive the cars, no matter where the road takes you.

I came across a TR4 engine Morgan on the side of the road. His coil wires had come off. It appeared the ends had not been crimped onto the wires and vibrated off. The ends were missing, so the wires were duct taped onto the coil. I followed him to the end of the rally.

No other problems that I know of.

Also, the orange Morgan and the green one were 2005 models. They came from the factory with a Ford Duratec dohc v6. The heads barely cleared the hood. Neat cars!

No Worries from My End

Anyone who takes the time to go through their photos to pick out a few and shrink them down to fit with the small size allowed by the Forum appreciates hearing that someone noticed their efforts. Please keep it up and encourage others to take the time to share on this Forum! It is great to have a variety of contributors.

Thanks!
